About Shadow & The Veterinarian Relief Trust

Shadow’s Veterinarian Relief Trust was founded by Timothy Stanley after his experience with his mother’s cat.

Shadow, a black tabby cat, was adopted from the Chautauqua County Humane Society in August 2004 by my mother, Audrey R. Stanley. Within two weeks after adapting Shadow, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. During this time, Shadow was her companion and uplifted her spirits while she was undergoing treatment for cancer. Shadow gave her five years of joy and unconditional love and gave her something to live for until her death in 2009.

Upon her death, Shadow continued to provide love, companionship, joy and enrichment in my life. The love and companionship of owning a pet is priceless. Because of this unconditional love and enjoyment that Shadow has given me, I would like to continue this in her honor by creating this trust to help pet owner by providing financial assistance in their time of need so that they enjoy their pets to the fullest. I believe that no animal needs to be put down because an owner cannot afford veterinary care.
